Our meeting point will be in Gjirokastra to go towards Libohova town to start our tour. Libohova is a small town which is situated in south-eastern part of Gjirokastra.It is an historic town which is waiting to be a touristic place and to visit its old castle, the old traditional houses and its natural monument 600-years old plane tree, set up in the center of the town.

    Castle of Libohova

    We will start visiting the castle. This castle was like a dowry from Ali Pashe Tepelena for his sister, Shanishahi, when she was married in this town, he decided to build it in the highest point of Drino valley.

    Traditional Houses

    After visiting the castle we go down to the historic center and to visit two traditional houses.The first one will be the mansions of Myfit Beu and Avni Rustemi,both were two important people in Albanian history.

    Tekke of Melan

    Then we drive down to Bureto Mountain which lies in the west part of Libohova, going to Tekke of Melan, which is built in 1800. A massive polygonal wall and ceramics pieces found,which belong to 4th century BC shows us how old is the whole area.

    The Church of St.Maria, Peshkepi village

    In our way to Saint Maria Church in Peshkepia village, first we will stop to fresh in one of the sources called Glina. After a relaxing time, we go to visit one of the rarest byzantine churches in Albania. The church of St. Maria is situated in southeast part of the village of Peshkepia. It is thought to date between the end of XI century and the beginning of XII century. It is known for its unique architecture that has.

    Hadrianopolis

    After learning about the church, we drive down to the other part of the valley where we find a roman ancient city called Hadrianopolis. It is built in 2nd century AD by the roman emperor Hadrian. It is reconstructed by the byzantine emperor Justinian I in 6th century. The ancient city of Hadrianopolis is famous for its 5000 seats theatre and large building which is thought to have been a bath complex romans style. Hadrianopolis is the last attraction for visiting in this tour than we return back in Gjirokastra town.
